Privacy Policy

The Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to this site.

The WDBA does not automatically gather any specific personal information from you, such as your name, telephone number or e-mail address when you visit this Web site. We would only obtain this type of information if you supply it by sending us an e-mail or registering in a secure portion of the site.

All personal information created, held or collected by the WDBA is protected under the federal Privacy Act and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. This means that at any point of collection you will be asked for consent to collect your information, and be informed of the purpose for which it is being collected and how to exercise your right of access to that information.

Your information will only be viewed by those persons at the WDBA who need that information for the purpose for which it was given. The WDBA will not disclose your information to anyone outside the WDBA without your consent or unless required by law.

The WDBA uses software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. This software receives and records the IP address of the computer that has contacted our Web site, the date and time of the visit and the pages visited. We do not attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site unless an attempt to damage the site has been detected.

This web site occasionally uses “session cookies” to track how our visitors use the site. These cookies reside on the Web browser and have no expiry date. They expire as soon as the visitor closes the web browser. The cookies the WDBA uses do not allow us to identify individuals. They are compiled into statistical information on traffic patterns and are used to assess site efficiency.

When you submit a question or comment, you may be asked for your name, e-mail address, or other information. Only WDBA employees who need to know the information in order to respond to your request or to ensure the security of this system can access to this information. We do not use the information to create individual profiles.

The personal information you submit via e-mail or when completing forms on the site is secure once it reaches the WDBA server. In transit between your computer and the WDBA server, however, it may not be secure.
