2015-2016 Annual Public Meetings

More than 100 participants from the public and private sectors participated at Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority’s (WDBA) Annual Public Meetings (APM) on April 28, 2017.

In recognition of the interest that stakeholders on both sides of the border have in the Gordie Howe International Bridge project, two meetings were held – one in Windsor and one in Detroit. The Windsor meeting was also webcast.

Annual Public Meetings provide an opportunity for the public to learn more about WDBA’s operations, to hear the latest financial results and to speak directly with members of the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team of the Crown corporation.

At the meetings, Dwight Duncan, Chair of the WDBA Board of Directors, shared WDBA’s framework to guide the delivery of a Community Benefits Plan for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project. This framework, known as I-CARE, is based on community input and will help WDBA and the Proponent teams develop Community Benefits Plans which reflect stakeholders concerns on what matters to them.

At the meetings, WDBA’s President and CEO, Michael Cautillo also provided an update on infrastructure investments focusing on the period April 1, 2015, to March 31, 2016, including preparatory activities at the sites of the Canadian and US Ports of Entry.
